Fernando VII 1808 - 1833
Ferdinand VII (October 14, 1784 - September 29, 1833) was King of Spain twice, in 1808, and from 1813 to 1833 (from 1808 to 1813 in dispute with Joseph Bonaparte).
The eldest surviving son of Charles IV, king of Spain, and of his wife Maria Louisa of Parma, he was born in the vast palace of El Escorial near Madrid.

These countermarks were introduced by decree of October 27, 1832 due to the problems encountered with the larger countermarks of 1828 - 1830. Piercedor holed coins were declared not valid but later were countermarked directly over the hole with type V or Type VI countermarks and circulated freely. The latter types exist countermarked on both sides directly over the hole and are very scarce. These countermarks were retired in 1834 after the death of Ferdinan VII and replaced with a new die of Isabel II, Type VI. Coins with Type V countermark dated after 1834 can be considered counterfeit
